The origins

It all began in 1905 with Antonio Kusanović Jerčić, a young Croatian who crossed the world to reach Punta Arenas at the age of fifteen. From that pioneering determination emerged a family legacy that would eventually take root at Estancia Cerro Negro.

The vision

In 1979, the family acquired Estancia Cerro Paine, located in the heart of Torres del Paine National Park. With no bridges and no basic services, maintaining ranching operations demanded extraordinary effort, yet Antonio moved his livestock to the property and worked the land with unwavering perseverance.
Throughout the 1980s, growing interest from international travelers eager to experience Torres del Paine began to transform the region. As visitor numbers increased, family opened Hostería Las Torres in 1992.

Hotel Las Torres and the Shift Toward Conservation

Over time, that small lodge evolved into Hotel Las Torres. As it grew, the family made the decision to remove their cattle from the valley and embrace a new purpose: sustainable tourism. In doing so, the former ranch was transformed into Las Torres Patagonia, a natural and cultural reserve dedicated to tourism and conservation.

Shaping the Future

Las Torres Patagonia envisions its future by strengthening the contribution of Las Torres Conservancy to the conservation and long-term sustainability of Torres del Paine.

At the same time, the organization  is moving forward with the development of El Galpón, a more than 2,000-square-meter restaurant inspired by the traditional shearing sheds of Patagonia. The fourth generation now walks the same trails that Antonio once crossed on horseback. And the story continues to unfold.
